Patients in Canada are free to use any doctor in the country even across provincial and territorial borders. With the exception of Quebec we will reciprocally bill your province or territory health insurance program for the insured services and procedures ew supply so there is no upfront cost that otherwise would require you to submit for reimbursement. Quebec residents please read below.
However, we have been having issues with labs and ultrasound clinics not accepting requisitions and or referrals from our Ontario doctors, even though they are required to do so. If you have valid health insurance in your province or territory you can attend any lab or clinic you choose. We will supply you with the necessary paperwork to get the tests done. Alternatively we can also submit the paperwork directly to these facilities if you can provide us with the name of the clinic, phone and fax numbers for the location you would like to attend.
If you have any problems we will contact the facility directly and inform them of your rights under the Canada Health Act and the Canadian Charter of Human Rights and Freedoms. If for any reason you are unable to get the tests done we will refund you the entire amount you paid for our services.
Quebec residents
We are unable to submit QC cards to OHIP as Quebec does not participate in the Reciprocal Medical Billing agreement that all of the other provinces are a part of. This means we will have to bill you as a private/uninsured patient and you would have to pay up front for the services.
You would have to submit the invoice with receipt to Quebec to apply to be reimbursement from the governing medical body (RAMQ).
If you would like to proceed please select the uninsured patients link
Our goal is to provide safe and convenient access to health care across the country.
